明德中学的设计利用场地高差、东西长和南北窄的现状特点,由东侧入口广场到西侧操场大院,发展了步步高升的台阶中庭大街。中庭大街南侧的教学楼与北侧多功能空间序列,通过序列的空中连廊,串联两侧的普通教室与专科研习场所。从建筑与景观交错穿插的剖面关系入手,设计利用下沉院落给底层大型活动空间带入自然采光,在平面和竖向剖面之间形成多元的交流平台。经由空间体量的层层升高,设计将活动空间由入口广场带到操场大院与塔楼宿舍,形成南北的空间张力与三维序列的线性院落空间。

The design of Mingde High School adopts the linear site and its elevation differences along the east-west, developing a campus atrium boulevard with sequence of steps that ascends gradually from the east entrance plaza to the west sport ground. Along the central boulevard, the linear teaching block on the south, and a series of functional boxes on the north, are connected through a sequence of sky-walkways linking regular classrooms to the functional spaces: assembly hall, library, art studios and science buildings. Starting from the sectional relationship between architecture and landscape, the design utilizes sunken courtyards to bring natural light into the lower-level large public functions, creating diversity of platforms on different levels. By ascending through large steps and terraces, the design brings activities from the entrance plaza to the sport ground and dormitory tower, forming a spatial tension between north and south, as well as a three-dimensional sequential linear courtyard space.
