Open courtyards with varying heights create a campus integrating human scale and natural ecology. The layout follows a green axis along the elongated campus, forming four building groups: the Teaching Courtyard Complex at the entrance's left, the Assembly Conference Hall on the right, the Central Quad in the middle, and the Lab and Tower Plaza at the end. The design strengthens connections between building groups and creates a campus space with varying densities. Natural landscapes penetrate individual buildings from the west side, extending to the campus's green mall and a series of courtyards on the east side. The green mall, with trees around lawns, uses corridors, water landscape, and platforms to organize courtyards into compact building clusters. The design adopts a three-level height strategy: low, medium, and high. It coordinates the 5-meter corridors' human scale, the 25-meter platform's greenery, and the 60-meter high-rise landmarks, bringing nature into the multi-layered campus space. The windmill-shaped courtyard for the Teaching Courtyard Complex, with alternating high and low structures, guides the entrance and campus space to respond to corner landmarks, forming a micro-city of spatial courtyards. The Assembly Conference Hall, integrating with a lake, utilizes the spatial framing of landmark gate to connect the entrance square with the lake and mountain. The Conference Hall links meeting rooms with outdoor platforms through lakefront corridors and vertical atriums. The Central Quad, composed of the Library and Student Center, introduces natural landscapes through the in-between gaps. The Lab faces mountain views and cityscapes to the north and south, connecting with the Tower Plaza, creating a visual vista extending the campus space towards distant mountains. <img width="1476" 深圳福海中学（第十六高中）位于宝安区福海街道，其南侧为高层居住小区，西侧及北侧为未来发展用地。项目面对一片新开发区当中的空地，建筑师应该如何的介入场地？相较于反映场所的历史与自然文脉，设计更需要重新想象，思索可能的生活事件，建构未来校园的场所感。 我们从“城市”中获得启发。路易斯·康描述的城市，是能够让孩子在其中穿梭来往、观察成长、知晓未来方向的地方。学校空间，尤其是住宿学校，学生像修道院里的僧人，朝夕来回在课室与寝室之间，日出日落。一个好的校园，更应该像城市空间的巷弄广场，拥有多元的大小空间和丰富的公共大厅和绿地，让学生们互动交流、沉静思考、探索学习。校园不只是一个个单体建筑的组合，而是青少年成长的生活容器。深圳福海中学的设计，在反思建设任务书的密度挑战同时，更试图在高层和多层的上下之间建立一种人与建筑、人与大地的尺度关系，想象一种立体、自然的未来城市建筑类型。如果我们无可避免地要面对一种越来越大和高的建筑，那么建筑必须成为一个微型城市，有不同的地面高程，和高低错落的平台与大树。建筑城市主义的校园，就是让这个立体建筑的城市，成为学生体验生活与自然、累积知识、孕育灵感的场所。在这个校园城市里，建筑既是校园，也是多元丰富的城市。 Shenzhen Fuhai Middle School (the 16th Senior High School) is located in Fuhai Subdistrict, Bao’an District. It is bordered by high-rise residential blocks to the south and undeveloped reserved land to the west and north. Standing on a vacant plot in an emerging urban zone, the campus demands a forward-thinking architectural intervention. Instead of merely inheriting local historical and natural contexts, the design reimagines daily scenarios to build a unique future-oriented sense of place for the campus. The design draws inspiration from urban space as defined by Louis Kahn, who believed a city nurtures children’s growth, observation and future cognition. Similar to monastery dwellers, boarding school students follow a regular routine between classrooms and dormitories. A quality campus should mimic urban alleys and plazas, featuring diverse spatial scales, abundant public halls and green spaces to facilitate students’ interaction, reflection and exploratory learning. 教室是学习空间和社群关系的起点。我们把三层宜人尺度的院落，经由垂直的交错叠加，引入高密度校园，让下层的平台成为上层的植栽地面，在人为的建筑中划出一片自然的小天地。建立院落的围合与开放关系，是形成校园空间的第一步。具体落实到教学区的合院设计，竖直方向的垂直发展，与水平方向上的延展相互叠加，建立遮阳通风的廊道与院落系统，成为适合岭南气候的合院校园城市。 校园设计规范里25m的间距与24m的高度，决定了院落尺度的基本模数。在偏高的6层建筑里，如何建立尺度合宜的院落空间？我们以三间教室和三间辅助空间作为基本模数，形成L型的学习组团，上下三层的L型的体量交错，带来高低层的草地与平台大树，以及自然采光与对流，成为一个立体的学习院落。水平连续的四组院落，串联形成递进的空间序列，联系到宿舍的高层院落。在不同的学习时段，学生穿梭于院落之间，从普通教室前往专科教室，学习不同学科的自然和艺术知识。另一方面，图书馆、报告厅等大功能空间盒子，嵌入院落低层成为屋顶平台，也是上层院落的地面，让原本六层的建筑变成知觉上的四层校园空间，形成宜人舒适使院落的尺度，立体的学习交往场所。 垂直的绿色校园，不能仅是鸟瞰图上表现的表层景观绿化。只有浅层覆土的校园建筑，难以营造出遮荫蝉鸣大树生长的环境。在福海中学的四个教学院落里，我们在不同的层高安排了四棵大树，包括抬高直径8m、深6m覆土的树筒，为大树提供了5m深的土壤，希望多年后可以孕育十多米直径的树冠，让树荫覆盖大半个院落。升高的树筒、地面、平台的四棵大树，共同营造出“真实”的院落大地，培养孩子建立一种对人和土地真实的感情和认知，重新构建自然生态的校园。 我们也在抬高的运动跑道两端，分别创造了半圆形的大树与拱廊庭院，确保庭院下方不作地下室开挖，让土壤成为海绵城市的生态整体。弧形的下沉庭院，除了给操场下方的球场、餐厅等大空间提供自然光线与绿色景观，也调控地面层与抬高操场的体量，形成景观大树的过渡空间。 自然的空间是教育的整体。在不同的院落里，同学们对阳光、大树、风和四季的感知，形成生活学习的空间记忆。校园里的自然，并非只是景观的植栽绿化，也包含着自然与人的互动，更是校园土壤与城市水文的生态联系。抬升的院落地面，让高楼层的学生，也能在走廊和教室感受树叶和风的流动，看见课间在大树旁的打球嬉戏。我们更希望上课时走神望着窗外的学生，可以惊喜地发现春天停在树梢上的雀鸟，以及穿越校园的绿树草坡和远方的青山。 从校园入口广场进入，可经由大台阶到达二三层平台，或经过半圆的廊道庭院，或走进一条贯穿南北，和教学院落平行的“校园大街”，将校园系列的大型公共空间串联起来，一路通到宿舍的院落群。大街左侧是操场下方的科创、泳池、球场、餐厅，右侧是教学院落平台下方的图书馆、礼堂、多功能厅。这些大尺度的功能空间在操场下层，沿着大街两侧交互开展，把教学院落和操场的编织成一个协调连续的整体。 配合街道两侧不同层高的公共功能空间，街道上方的操场看台，除了将三层操场连接到三层的教室院落平台，同时组织校园的步行体系。正如在一条好的城市街道，不同的公共设施相互交织，配合尺度转换，把任务书上大、中、小的面积指标转化为“街道”上下和两侧包罗万象的空间组成。 校园是学习和生活的场所。校园大街及周边多元的公共大厅和院落平台，除了是学生课间的公共大厅，餐饮阅览、打球游泳，更是日常碰面互动的场所。由校园大街延伸出来的巷弄楼梯，通过活动平台、架空连廊和台阶相互联通，组成校园的公共活动场所和学生的集体记忆。福海中学的学生们沿着这条“校园大街”展开日常生活，探索交流、阅读思考，而学习成长。 <img width="2000" height="1333" 明德中学的设计利用场地高差、东西长和南北窄的现状特点，由东侧入口广场到西侧操场大院，发展了步步高升的台阶中庭大街。中庭大街南侧的教学楼与北侧多功能空间序列，通过序列的空中连廊，串联两侧的普通教室与专科研习场所。从建筑与景观交错穿插的剖面关系入手，设计利用下沉院落给底层大型活动空间带入自然采光，在平面和竖向剖面之间形成多元的交流平台。经由空间体量的层层升高，设计将活动空间由入口广场带到操场大院与塔楼宿舍，形成南北的空间张力与三维序列的线性院落空间。 site and its elevation differences along the east-west, developing a campus atrium boulevard with sequence of steps that ascends gradually from the east entrance plaza to the west sport ground. Along the central boulevard, the linear teaching block on the south, and a series of functional boxes on the north, are connected through a sequence of sky-walkways linking regular classrooms to the functional spaces: assembly hall, library, art studios and science buildings. Starting from the sectional relationship between architecture and landscape, the design utilizes sunken courtyards to bring natural light into the lower-level large public functions, creating diversity of platforms on different levels. By ascending through large steps and terraces, the design brings activities from the entrance plaza to the sport ground and dormitory tower, forming a spatial tension between north and south, as well 石厦小学设计的挑战，是在多层高密度的条件下，维系一个合宜的空间尺度，调控建筑与自然的交错，让小孩与院落、大树与草地一起成长。 设计除了结合操场与地铁站广场，以过街天桥联系相邻街廓的中学，更抬高首层取消校园围墙，让红线内地块成为城市街道空间和街角绿地。设计进一步利用层层上升的台阶，形成立体院落空间，期望深圳未来校园的开放，能将社区市民由城市广场经由大树院落，一路带到屋顶草坡， 迈向都市合院的立体校园与城市。 设计面对面积需求层高和场地限制的挑战，以多元形式的户外空间贯穿垂直的功能划分，上层为行政办公，中层为教学组团，下层为公共功能。中层的教学空间从基本的班级单元开始，结合走廊共享空间形成班群。三个楼层组团叠加，低年级靠近操场，高年级靠近天台。上层是连续屋顶坡道和台阶，可以容纳花圃菜地、草地广场、剧场跑道。下层地面穿廊和挑空联系地下一层的礼堂、乐器、图书、游泳以及体育馆。地面院落与架高廊道、开口和天窗为地下提供充足的自然采光。 设计在校园四个院落种植四棵大树，把绿色带到更高的楼层，树下平台或大台阶形成学习与活动空间，也带来遮荫改善微气候。校园设计着重建筑与自然交错穿插的剖面关系，开放地面和连续屋顶保证了每个相叠的功能组团都有充足的户外空间，创造出立体庭院和穿插的户外活动，成为深圳新一代的高密度垂直复合校园原型。 Urban Courtyards Trees, Continuous Landscape, and Vertical Courtyards By arranging coucrtyard spaces three-dimensionally, the design of Shixia Primary School interweaves architecture with landscape in the high-density urban condition, moderats scale for the multi-leveled campus allowing children to grow up with tree-patios and grasslands. The design integrates urban plaza with the sport ground, links the skybridge across and setback the boundary, providing urban spaces for the streeet, expecting a future open and shared campus bringing urban spaces from the ground through the accending courtyards to the roofggreen. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Facing challenges of high-demand for floor area in a tight urban site, the design arranges functional division by intersecting variety of patio spaces with vertical programs: upper level studios, middle level classrooms, and lower level public functions. Through stacking modular clusters of classroom with shared patios and verandas, the design allows students of lower grades have easy access to the playground while the seniors be adjacent to their platforms. On the upper levels, The design transforms the campus into a continuous roofslope accommodating grass-lawns and runways, flower-beds and roof-terraces. On the lower levels, by allocating auditorium, library, swimming-hall and gymnasium connected to the ground and the semi-underground spaces, the design adpot sunken courtyards, open corridors and light wells to facilitate natural lighting and cross-ventilation for large public functions. Through arranging four large trees into the four courtyards at different levels, the design brings the greenery up to the higher levels for the vertical campus. With steps and pltios moving up along the courtyards, the design creates activity platforms under the trees, bringing together light and shade creating microclimate with thermal comfort. Addressing the sectional relationship between architecture and nature, the design facilitates inter-connections among open ground, continuous rooftop and leveled patios. Providing each stacking programs with terraces and semi-open spaces, the design generates a campus prototypoe with three-dimensional courtyards for the new generation of high-density campus in 丽水学院松阳校区的规划掌握场地的自然地景，建立建筑与景观交织，疏密有致的城乡校园肌理。校园中央的绿轴，与山脚下的溪流平行穿越校园南北。轴线西侧的三个教学院落，沿着三角场地与校外街道，配合南北向的校园廊道与地形，大小肌理缓缓上升依序展开。轴线东侧的序列公共建筑以不同形式的单体方院，沿着溪流由南向北错落安排：美术馆、行政楼、会堂、图书馆、学生中心。单体方院进一步利用建筑之间的空隙，将山水自然带入校园。绿地轴线穿过校园中心的水池后轻微的向东南转折，连接西北角的体育馆和运动场，以及最南端的学生宿舍群落。四层高度的建筑调控校园的山水尺度，协调建筑与山体成为和谐的整体。建筑的空间形式力求简洁，外墙局部以灰瓦配合夯土墙体和青砖，结合当代建构与松阳的地域传统。 Through working with the natural landscape of the site, the campus planning of Lishui University interweaves architecture with landscape, moderating built fabrics with fields for the urban-rural campus. The central green mall runs parallel to a stream along the adjacent foothill, with the western side featuring campus fabrics with three teaching courtyards of varying sizes unfolding sequentially. On the eastern side, a sequence of pavilion public buildings in various square courtyard forms is arranged along the stream: art gallery, administrative building, assembly hall, library, and the student centre, bringing nature into the campus through their spaces in-between. Crossing the central campus lake, the green mall gently curves southeast, connecting the sports field and gymnasium at the northwest corner, as well as the student dormitory complex at the southern end. With a primary four-story building scale, the design ensures that the architecture harmonizes with the landscape and its surrounding mountains. The natural ecology and agricultural settlements are still visible in the valley. To promote local cultural tourism, the design of the Valley Retreat rethinks the role that tourist facilities play in such environment by integrating natural topography, vernacular building types, and rammed earth construction techniques. The subsequent design transforms abandoned farmland into an ecological and cultural retreat. The design of the retreat considers existing vacant farmland and paddy field pattern. Taking four vacant farm houses as the starting point, the renovation and addition develops a series of strategy to create courtyards in relationship with the landscape: enclosure, transformation, and extension. The inward-oriented courtyard is thus opened in dialogue with the surrounding landscape, extending a linear sequence of spaces along the river stream. The system of architectural and landscape courtyards is programmed with 30 rooms and other public facilities. Through courtyards and alleyways, platforms and steps, ponds and woods, the retreat creates an experience for the visitors to immerse within the natural environment. In terms of tectonics and materials, the design uses timer shutters to mediate the continuity from the front yards and balconies to the back alleys and backyards, regulating the solid-and-void relationship of the architecture while creating a continuous living experience of the natural environment. Particular design attention is paid to the articulation of roof tiles and timber structures, the coordination between the old and new rammed earth textures, the tectonic logics between the steel trusses and timber purlins and rafters, as well as the techniques of the masonry construction of the courtyard walls. 分開成兩個交錯的C字形長條量體。兩個各三層的長條量體經由轉折和架空疊加，配合了校園的入口朝向與綠地軸線，保留了由中央綠地到山體的視線穿透性，也維系了校園自然坡地的完整性。 建築以多層挑高的書架天光大堂為空間中心，延展到線性量體底端，觀山框景的圖書閱覽室。圖書館室外的空間序列“庭/廊/臺”配合了室內空間序列的“廳/堂/室”，彰顯了室內與室外的空間對話與平行雙重框景的空間張力。設計利用內外墻體的過渡與木條和沖孔遮陽板的調控，將間接光源引入室內的閱覽空間。建築立面利用石材與青磚以退縮的外廊和開展的實墻，架起厚實而輕微曲折的上層鋁板量體，隨著觀者在校園的步換景移，呼應了傳統的屋瓦舉折與鳳凰展翅的大學意象。 我們將兩萬平米的功能面積分成上下兩組C字型的半圍合量體，每個量體分別有三層的樓面。下三層的量體對著校園空間展開，成為面向綠地大道的主要開口；上三層的長型量體對著背後的山體圍合展開，量體底端成為眺望山景的多層閱覽室。在功能上低層量體利用二層入口的大臺階串聯，結合地面層的24小時研習工作坊，使得圖書館的下三層成為以研習討論為主的彈性學習空間，上三層成為藏書與閱覽和研究為主的靜態空間。 我們在六層的量體內部安排了兩個平行而關鍵的空間穿透：第壹個經由大階梯將視覺帶到背後的青山，另壹個透過書架將變換的陽光帶入空間核心。第壹個空間穿透是水平上仰的，設計利用上下兩個量體的交錯疊合空間，透過挑高的大廳入口和大臺階的視覺引導，將讀者的視覺與流線從大門壹路帶到三層的平臺面對後山的綠意。這個穿透強化了量體圍合後院的形態關系，以及建築空間對自然山體的通透性。 設計在上下兩個空間量體重合的部分，隨著量體的曲折打開壹個五層高的中庭天井，天井上方的輕微彎曲的采光天窗由校園軸線轉到南北向，透過穿孔鋁板的方位與角度變換過濾夏季的遮陰引入冬季的陽光，讓早晚與季節光影的變化成為書架與地板的痕跡。天井側墻的挑空書架背面是善本藏書室與閱覽廳，讀者透過樓梯節節上升的引導和連橋的交錯，產生天窗、遮陰、書架、樓板、梯橋的多重空間層次，以及視覺與身體向上運動時和書架與書本的互動暗示。 圖書館作為校園空間的核心建築，擔負了校園形式象征與活動聯系的多重功能。作為校園綠地軸線序列公共建築的關鍵，以及中庭廣場方院連橋的轉折，圖書館建築面對了多面向的場地張力。 無論是圖書館與學生中心之間的荷花水池，或是圖書館與行政樓之間的草坡樹林，圖書館的單體設計配合了整體校園規劃理念,在區位上聯系學院與與學生活動和中庭廣場,將大面積的建築拉成轉折而穿透的量體,保持了由綠地到山體的視線穿透性。 The library design for the Chinese University of Hong Kong’s Shenzhen Campus reconsiders typical university library in China by breaking the six-story volume into two three-story C-shape volumes, stacked and re-oreinted to connects with adjacent landscape. The library building extends the campus’s green mall into its atrium, creating direct visual connection between the campus and the hill behind the building. The library’s six-story atrium is surrounded by bookshelves and filled with reflected natural daylight. The atrium space extends vertically through the building and laterally connects different reading and study spaces. The horizontal volumes capture surrounding landscape into the building, bringing a sense of naturalness into the densely packed shelving areas. The skylights filter natural daylight into the center of the library, creating a warm and reader-friendly environment for reading and study. From the exterior, the library building extends to connect with the adjacent student center, teaching complex and sunken garden, creating a learning hub for knowledge exchange among students. The use of material integrates local brick-laying techniques and with glazing-aluminum curtainwall system. The ascending courtyards and platforms invite students from campus’s ground level to the semi-open courtyards above, extending to receive the mountain landscape. The Student Center is positioned to connects with the library, the teaching complex and the campus green mall, drawing the campus’s energy to create a place for gathering and recreation. A system of vertical platforms penetrate through the building and forms a series of shaded, open-air common spaces, creating semi-outdoor places different students activities while framing the natural landscape beyond. These naturally ventilated, self-shaded spaces become ideal places for student gathering in the sub-tropical climate. The recycled grey bricks of the building’s exterior is contrasted by the yellow mosaic tiles and red perforated panels of the interior elevations. The material system also corresponds with the function programming of the building, creating a sense of scale for the students’ daily experience.
